Driver Training

Our experienced driver training team, based near Cambridge, deliver industry-leading CPC courses and additional training for professional drivers.

Below are some of the driver training services we offer:

CPC periodical training

We have 5* rated CPC courses available and are made up of three and half hour sessions, you can decide what two courses you would like on a mix and match option to make the seven hours as required by JAUPT. We use the Quizdom system which entails each driver having a handset which is unique to his name in the system and they must answer questions on the subject which has been on the course, this information goes on the system and can be sent to you to inform you of your driver’s involvement in the course, we are one of only a few Training companies using this system. These courses can be done at our Huntingdon premises or at your own site (subject to facilities) we offer a seven day a week option, we can also offer evening and online courses if required.

Toolbox Talks

Toolbox Talks are brief training sessions aimed at educating the workforce on specific aspects of health and safety relating to vehicles, such as driver hours, accident procedures in RTC, load safety, vehicle roadworthiness, and walk-around checks. These talks can be conducted at the customer’s location and typically last up to 2 hours. Attendance is recorded on a sheet to provide evidence of the training delivered. The delivery method is PPP, with a trainer leading discussions with the participants. Additionally, a quiz may be included at the end of the session to ensure that the training has been effective.

Post RTC Assessments

The purpose of this is to assess any driver that has been involved in an RTC blameworthy or not, we get as much information about the incident as possible and the drivers history of events, once the assessment is over we then make the decision on weather the driver needs some remedial training or not, this is something that insurance companies like to see, and can only improve the standard of your drivers.

New Driver Initial Driving Assessments

Most companies today require new drivers  seeking a driving position to undergo a driving assessment to ensure they are competent to drive the category of vehicle they will be driving. Our procedures are well-thought out for our clients; first thing is a DVLA licence check followed by a Q+A sheet with basic highway code and drivers rules with a pass or fail result, then if satisfactory a road drive of one hour, if the driver has some issues these can be addressed with some training, if dangerous then a fail.

New Starter Induction Day

This is something we can offer for new starters, once given your companies procedure for new starters i.e. health & safety, site rules, refuelling, etc, our instructor can then deliver the training needed for drivers to comply with these things.

Basic Driver Training

We can also offer training to drivers who may have problems with reversing or coupling/uncoupling this is a common problem, this is something that can be rectified quite easily.

LGV Instruction

As of August 2018, we will be doing LGV instruction Cat C to Cat C+E this will be based on a five-day course, we have had a lot of interest in this, as you probably know in the UK we still have a shortfall of 30,000 lgv drivers, our rates for this are very competitive, our instructors are all RTITB qualified and experienced.

Any other driver training that you would require can be addressed, please do not hesitate to contact us or our office for more information.

Please contact us if you would like to set up a meeting to discuss any of the above.
